About the institution

KMEA Engineering College (Autonomous)

The Kerala Muslim Educational Association was established in 1957 with the lofty aim of setting up quality educational institutions on a par with global standards promoting education among minority communities and providing financial aid to the economically weak and deserving students. Late Sri. Poker Sahib, an eminent Parliamentarian and Philanthropist and late Sri. K. M. Seethi Sahib, former speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, was the key forces behind the formation of KMEA. Former Chief Minister Sri. C. H. Muhammed Koya has also actively participated in the formation of the association. KMEA Engineering College (KEC) was established in 2002 under the management of Kerala Muslim Educational Association, a charitable trust. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering UG programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). KMEA Engineering College attained autonomous status in 2025, enhancing academic flexibility, curriculum design, and evaluation systems for improved educational quality.

  • To transform budding engineers into employable quality professionals.

  • To inculcate the need of pursuing higher education among the graduate students so as to create a society of highly educated professionals.

  • To impart ethical values and social consciousness among the students so as to create responsible and socially committed engineers.

  • To create an excellent academic ambience which encourages creative thinking, innovations and research.

Our Visions is to be a centre of excellence in academics and research for moulding students to become competent engineering professionals with innovative ideas and dedicated to the upliftment of the deprived socio-economic sections of the society through effective teaching learning process.

KMEA is committed to providing high-quality education for all of its students. An education at Cochin offers an environment conducive to the best learning situations – individualized academic support, dedicated teaching faculty, personal educational and financial counseling, and the beauty and security of a campus in the College. Providing appropriate financial assistance for worthy students is continuing commitment to its heritage as a leading institution of higher learning accessible to everyone qualified for admission.
