The Kerala Muslim Educational Association (KMEA) was established in 1957 with the vision of providing quality education at par with global standards while promoting educational opportunities among minority communities and supporting deserving students.
Founded through the efforts of visionary leaders including Late Sri. Poker Sahib, Late Sri. K. M. Seethi Sahib, and Former Chief Minister Sri. C. H. Muhammed Koya, KMEA has grown into one of Kerala's most respected educational organizations.

Established in 2002 under the management of KMEA, KMEA Engineering College is approved by AICTE, affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, accredited by NAAC, and several undergraduate programs are accredited by NBA.
In 2025, the institution attained Autonomous Status, enhancing academic flexibility, curriculum innovation, industry-oriented learning, and advanced evaluation systems.
